Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure what to do, but I am not travelling till September, so hopefully something might of changed by then.

I don't know whether to try and avoid Belgium somehow, or like leics2 says how would driving through Belgium and not stopping, how you might be at risk ?

If you're not travelling until September imo it's a bit pointless asking for advice/info now. The situation in the UK and mainland European countries....and worldwide....is extremely fluid.

By September some EU countries may require all UK visitors to self-isolate, the UK may require everyone returning from any EU country to self-isolate, the UK may advise against all but essential travel to all/some EU countries (which automatically invalidates your travel insurance)...... There's no way anyone can possibly know in early August what September travel will be like.

If you don't stop at all...even for fuel or the loo...you obviously won't be at risk. But the rules aren't in place to prevent *you* being at risk! They're in place to stop people who are unknowingly infected and asymptomatic infecting others. It is probable that your journey details will show you have travelled through Belgium (and, imo, it would *not* be a good idea to lie...completing the passenger locator form is a legal requirement).....and it's always much harder to prove a negative.

I suggest you check the official guidance much nearer your date of travel.

Especially if you drive off a ferry from Ostend.
