I'd agree with the Cambodia and Battambang rings a bell. Initially I thought Phnom Sampeau - the corpse statue on the ground is very much the style of those around the entrance to the Killing Caves. But then I thought not but rings strongly Battambang.

I won't guess anymore on this one, but looking at the theme, I am more drawn towards Cambodia.....it seems to depict a rich man (royal?) riding past starvation.

The statue of the man in the chariot and with the bow are of Lord Arjuna, a main character in the Mahabharata epos. The Mahhbarata tale originated in India, but the way Arjuna is pictured here points to S-E Asia. (Not Indonesia, though).

I can't say with certainty, as language barrier may have hindered understanding, but we were told that the dead man is part of the four omens Buddhist story of Prince Siddhartha Gautama's road to enlightenment to become Buddha. The other omens are in the statues, so it does fit. And we had the impression that the archer is the popular Buddhist story of the Little Archer.

You have Battambang right, but not the location. Unfortunately we didn't get out to Phnom Sampeau, but I gather the statues there are pretty gruesome. I have seen a suggestion that a variation of this statue in Siem Reap is supposed to represent a killing by the Khmer Rouge, but given the rest of the statues here, I think that is much less likely than it being part of the Four Omens.

I was about to post these when I saw the last guess, so those that only really help with Battambang won't be much good now, but at least one of these should help with the location...

I think it's in Battambang city but I'd have to Google for a name of the site (sure I visited it but can see any photos of it in my photo library).

re: Phnom Sampeau: It's not the statues that are gruesome compared to the cave itself which is on a level of S-21. The amazing (pleasant) part of Phnom Sampeau is the bat colony. Just to make you really jealous (sorry) https://psamathe.net/wp-content/Videos/SEA2020/Wrinkle-lipped%20bats%20(Battambang).mp4 (< ERROR: the link title is too long!) I don't see why you shouldn't Google the name as you recognise it, it's been long enough. Yes, I get the statues are nothing compared to the reality of what happened there. We found Tuol Sleng in particular and the Killing Fields very hard albeit, in our opinion, a completely necessary thing to do.

Damrey Sor Pagoda (and although useful for this clue I don't hold with the broader "Google is your friend" expression)
