"Vacation Club" is a spinoff on timeshare in that part of Mexico. Generally you have 7 days to change your mind and it has to be done IN WRITING. I'm not sure if the consumer protection agency, PROFECO, can help you since it is not really fraud, you just relied on verbal representations and did not verify them so it would be almost impossible to prove fraud.
My late husband and I purchased a timeshare years ago at the Kauai Marriott, and it turned out to be a pretty good deal overall since we used it many times and only traded 3 times. I finally sold it back to Marriott at a loss of over $12,000USD but hey, I got a nice tax writeoff for the next 4 years.
I did look into selling it, but for every legit outfit that is buying unwanted timeshares, there are probably 3-4 that are crooks and scammers. Just look at EBay where you can buy used timeshares dirt cheap.
I wish you luck with getting rid of it.

".. I think it's more like a "Timeshare..."

That's what I was thinking about. I have heard about high pressure meetings where you are encouraged to sign right now to take advantage of some "super terrific" offers. Sometimes free refreshments, meals and gifts are used to entice you to the meetings. For some of these meetings you are taken to a slightly remote location and have to sit through everything just to get a ride back to your hotel.

Any of this sound familiar???

Definitely, can't believe I fell into this flimflam

If it's a lot of money, it might be worth finding a lawyer. If you don't have the money for a lawyer, try your local legal aid society.

Good luck.

Found your comment helpful so I started browsing about attorneys that could get me out of this contract, to my surprise I encountered with plenty of options that claim they can cancel my contract. Still digging into them, don’t want to get fooled again.
