We should be able to head off to my place in the Lake District

...Or perhaps not. Christmas cancelled by new government restrictions. :(

Just seen that! Seems to be happening all over Europe at the moment. And Sydney looks like it's going the same way too.

Jacinda Ardern has almost got God-like status here at the moment. She's handled it all very well but it is much easier in an isolated island nation of just 5 million people.

We're also heading into Tier 4 (UK), so no mixing at Christmas. We were just having my parents here for Christmas Day, but that is now cancelled. Upside is that we no longer have to do the super cautious deep clean that we had planned!

So sorry for those new govt. restriction. We're getting more and more restrictions and no one obeys them and the virus just keeps getting worse. Wish people would wake up and mask up and wash those nasty hands. It's not a big deal and I'm ready to be done with this. We just drove an hour toward the coast to meet our youngest daughter who drove an hour inland. We met at the middle and had a masked, distanced gift exchange and brief chat in a parking lot. It was wonderful to see her, but we'll miss her at Christmas.

It's been a crazy year and I think we'll all be happy when it's over. I surely hope 2021 is much better even if it's just the last half of it.

Hope all of you have the very nicest Christmas possible.

We have some friends who were going to come down to Melbourne from Sydney right after Christmas. That has now been cancelled. We're all crossing our fingers in Melbourne, hoping we haven't let it in with this new outbreak. If there's even one local case I imagine we'll be straight back into some form of lockdown.

We're staying home this year as a family. We're breaking the tradition of flying to Norway to go skiing. I wish good holiday everyone who gets to go on trip. take care of yourself and your family.;)
