How can I map a cruise calling at different ports and avoid straight lines between them?

Yes, it looks like your ship drove through the middle of North Island getting to Tauranga! 
I'm no technical expert but I don't think the site mapping is sophisticated enough to offer an easy fix for this. I guess you could add in some points as waymarks to improve the look, but I really think it looks fine anyway.
