I can't really help, Kathrin. The only thing I can tell you is that I'm never consciously aware of you having a German accent.

Many thanks J - that's what I wanted to hear ;) So even if it's there, it can't be too striking or you would certainly have noticed. That's satisfactory to me...

I am born and brought up in NZ with a very mild accent. I lived in the UK for 11 years no doubt picking up an accent (and all sorts of phrases I still use).
I have been back in NZ for nearly 20 years but just about every new person I meet asks if I am English (or a Pom). Happened just the other week when we were kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park. It was odd living in the UK, to my ears their accent seemed to disappear but I could could really hear the Kiwi accent when speaking to my parents on the phone.

as an Arab person I love African American accent, they are so funny and attractive. their type of speak is full of energy
