Always package is good, But some of the time there is some objection. Some of the traveler's complaints about the package hotel service are not the same as regular.

Hello there! I prefer making my own trip. I think it's more fun to plan your own itinerary and figure out your own transportation and accommodations. It's also more rewarding to explore a place on your own and really get to know it, rather than just seeing the highlights. Of course, it takes a bit more effort to do everything yourself, but I think it's worth it.

I prefer making my own travel plans because it allows me to tailor my itinerary to my interests and travel style. However, I can see the appeal of package tours for their convenience and often lower costs. Regarding the complaint about package hotel services, I think it's important to research the accommodations and read reviews before booking any travel package. That way, you can ensure the hotel meets your expectations and needs

I too prefer making my own travel plans rather than going through a third party. I do disagree with the statement that package tours are convenient and often cheaper though.

I completely agree with Borisborough. We started doing our own plans because it is so much cheaper than any tours we found. The very first tour of Europe (back in the Good Old Days) was an alumni association tour. We booked it and then I started doing a little research . . . in books in the library before the Internet. I quickly discovered we could do a lot more and stay in more interesting places if I did the booking myself. So we arranged to lease a car and camp most of the way. We stayed in a couple hotels, a convent on the Mediterranean and a timeshare for a week and camped the rest of the time. It was easier then to carry camping gear on a plane. I can't imagine getting an ax and hammer on a plane today. We stayed a month as opposed to the two-week tour and got to see what we wanted to see instead of skimming through places that were "famous." We've planned all our trips since then and with the Internet and sites like TravellersPoint, it is much easier today. We've discovered low-budget places that are wonderful and use Gites de France and Logis de France, Agriturismi in Italy and various home-stay schemes in Ireland, Scotland, England, Belgium and Germany. We use booking.com (available right here on TravellersPoint) for a lot of our home stays in many countries. It is simply more convenient and cheaper.

We do use tours, but local bus or boat tours we book from the places we are visiting, i.e. we toured by bus to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland and had great fun. Our B&B host told us about that tour. Local information is usually excellent.

Yes, it takes more work, but you know more about what you are seeing when you ge4t th

It depends so much on how well I know the place and how easy it is to find information. If it's Australia/ NZ/ US/ Europe, I'll plan it myself as I know I can tailor that to what I want. For somewhere like Laos or much of sub-Saharan Africa, I'd be looking at a package because the people putting together the packages will have done the research that I probably can't do online.
