Hi. Once north of Great Falls, MT I wound up in a small, middle-of-nowhere town last winter and I saw a sign that they had an extended stay for around $500 per month. I didn't inquire more since I was there just a few days. Does anyone know of any decent motels with extended stays in the USA? I'm in the western states right now but I'm open to going elsewhere. I got the impression the hotel in MT had a low rate due to low check ins due the winter. Maybe it was due to C-19. But if it was due to the weather is the opposite true in the summer? Do places with extreme heat have hotels with affordable extended stay in summer?

Almost any hotel or rental will have a special rate for extended stays. We often rent houses in Europe and always ask if there is a special rate for an extended stay. There nearly always is. The secret is to ask. It's much easier than it used to be because everyone has email these days. Find places near where you want to go and email them and ask if they have special rates for extended stays. It will probably help if you tell them the dates you are planning because if that's their busy time, they won't have special rates. However, if it's a slow time, they'll be happy to rent out even at a discount.

It never hurts to ask.

Enjoy your trip.

Best of luck on your trip; I use AIRBNB most of the time and negotiate the rate if it is an extended stay, especially with current COVID restrictions, less occupancy.
