Hi Peter,

you mentioned a few weeks ago in https://www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=115725 that you will have a look if it's possible in the new map system to add coordinates dircetly.

Did you have time to check it?

Is TP under active development?

Only for small values of "active", the way I understand it. It's just Peter left, and most of his time is taken up by necessary infrastructural changes and behind-the-scenes maintenance, so new features are currently few and far between.

Hi Sander! Thx for clarification! Time is rare I understand! Sad to hear this, so after 123 Trips I have to stop mapping :-( Hope this feature will come back cause it was availbale in the old mapping. All the best!

FWIW, the workaround I personally use the few times I want to really accurately position a stop is to search for the coordinates on openstreetmap to see where exactly those coordinates are (only works if there's distinguishing features, but there tend to be), then on the TP implementation search for the nearest city, and drag the pin to the same location as shown in the openstreetmap view. Since you do get to see the exact coordinates of the pin in the left bar, that works pretty okay, even if it isn't as swift a procedure as just directly entering the coordinates by hand.

I do believe Peter will implement this feature again, but yeah, he has a thousand different priorities to pay attention to, so it's not going as swiftly as everyone would like.

Hi Sander, thanks for your time! I will try your workaround... it's not really a problem with your mapping system because usually (I think) most of the travellers visit a spot near some existing addresses. I was mapping my travels and geocaching spots so most of the time I have coords. I think when you do this workaround with a few spots this for sure will work fine but when you have 20-30 spots this will be very time consuming. However this is more a personal kismet than a mapping system issue :-) Hope it will come back sometime... so far thanks for the great work over so many years!
