Hi All, I am new to this forum. Next week I am off work for a week. I live in the UK. I was hoping to spend 2 or 3 days in a European city. Because of the Covid-19 restrictions I am confused about which countries I am allowed to visit.

I have had both my jabs. I take a test covid test on a weekly basis and all come back negative. Am I allowed to visit any of these cities: Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin or Paris?

1. Look at the countries on the UK's green/amber/red lists:

France is still on the amber+ list so you'd need to quarantine for 10 days on return to the UK, even if you're fully-vaccinated.

Remember that any country's status can change with little or no notice.

2. Look at the FCO info about Covid entry requirements for UK citizens going to the Netherlands, Belgium, Rep Ireland and France:

At the moment UK citizens cannot enter Belgium other than for essential reasons. The UK FCO is advising against all but essential travel to the Netherlands, which means your travel & health insurance won't be valid.

3. That only leaves Rep Ireland as a possibility from your list......but you need to double-check that you will meet all their entry requirements for non-EU/non-Schengen citizens.

4. If you're looking for a short city break next week imo it'd be a lot simpler just to find a UK city you've not been to or don't know well. Edinburgh? Glasgow? Belfast? Liverpool? Norwich? Bristol? Lincoln? Cardiff? Exeter?
