Can we still write Tips? The map function seems to be broken

Travel Forums System Talk Can we still write Tips? The map function seems to be broken

Hi. I'm trying to write a Tip and when I get to the point where it says to put the marker on the map as accurately as possible, there is no map. I've tried a few things and can't get a map even when I put a solid address in the title. No map, no location and I can't go forward so no tip . . .

Confirmed; this happens when adding a new point of interest. Luckily existing points of interest can still be used. (Right? I didn't go all the way through.)

The browser console shows:

Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://maps.tilehosting.com/styles/voyager/style.json?key=fGrArVsgs8psKDK62vBA. (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing).

Visiting that URL, it appears that the domain needs to be updated to api.maptiler.com, along with some other changes. This is a blogpost about the change.

I suspect the setup for adding a new tip point of interest is completely separate from all other mapping functionality on the site, and that this is why this change slipped below the radar for so long.

Well, I added my Tip but had to use the Bergerac Airport as my Point of Interest. This is a bit of a stretch for an ancient Abbey. I added the Abbey web site but TP's Tip function added the Bergerac Airport web site.

All in all, it looks pretty silly and it's titled for the Bergerac Airport, not the Abbey at Cadouin. I think I won't write any more Tips until they fix this little glitch.

BTW, is there any way to edit a Tip after it's published? I suspect I can't change the Bergerac Airport title nor remove the airport web site, but it would be fun to try.
