I've checked all my settings to make sure they are correct but no one is able to comment on my blog, not even me. Help!

I think I just did? On this one:

OK, yes, see that one, but not able to comment on my current blog: https://nw2021.travellerspoint.com/

You've password protected your current blog, so unless you tell us your password, we can't see anything about it.

Yes, but do you have any suggestions without me giving you the password? Have you seen this issue before? I set the blog to allow comments and those people with the password (including me) are able to write comments but the comments don't show up. The comments don't even show up in my list of comments waiting for approval.

I haven't seen any reports about this issue.
If I set up a test password protected blog myself, I can comment on it, both as a logged in user (comment shows up immediately) and as an anonymous user (comment needs to be approved).

It's hard to debug an unknown problem without sufficient access.

When you write a comment as a non-logged in user and submit it, the page should reload, with the following notice showing up above the comment form:
"Your comment has been submitted and will be visible as soon as the blog owner approves it."

I'm assuming you don't see that? Do you see any other (error) message?

If you open developer tools (F12) and go to the console tab, there'll be some errors and warnings. Can you copy them here? (They should be unrelated, but good to make certain.)

As far as I know, only users who are logged into the blog are trying to comment. What happens when you type a comment into the comment box, you are asked to enter the password again with a statement like: "This blog is password-protected and you must enter the password to proceed". When you enter the password, it takes you back to the the blog page showing the comment box but when you re-enter the comment and submit it, you get redirected again back to being asked to enter your password. So it's a vicious circle. This is all I see for errors in the console tab: DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for chrome-extension://liecbddmkiiihnedobmlmillhodjkdmb/js/intercom-link-expand-loader.js.map: HTTP error: status code 404, net::ERR_UNKNOWN_URL_SCHEME

Urgh, that sounds super annoying.

I still can't reproduce it, though. Tried in Chrome, tried in Firefox. It shouldn't be the type of problem that's specific to a single blog, and since you say it happens to multiple people, it also shouldn't be something specific to your browser, so I'm at a loss.

This'll probably need some attention from Peter, the admin - but he's been rather absent lately, so no idea when he'll be able to have a look.

OK, while we're waiting on him can you tell me specifically what my settings should be just in case I am missing something there?

What I've tested and what works for me are the following settings:

Password protect your blog: Yes
Comments are switched on: Yes
Anyone can comment: No / Yes (combined with How long for: Forever)

One thing you might still try as a potential workaround: after logging in to the blog, click around a bit to other entries or the main page of the blog before trying to comment.
