Hello.

For some time now I do not get email notifications for posts that I am subscribed to.

I have selected "Unsubscribe from this Thread" and then selected "Subscribe to this Thread" to see if this made any difference. No difference!

When I choose "Profile" and then select the prompt that says "Email Address:
Verify this email"
no verification email appears. (I do get other emails under same verification address.)

  • Presently setting up a new smaller 11 inch Chromebook since my Win 10 laptop is on its last days. This is so I have some continuity for paying bills online and normal email communication when the old Asus breathes its last breath. (Over 5 years old, battery not charging for a year, using A/C only now. Previous cheap Asus Netbook was good for just over 5 years before it died an honorable death.) I will buy a larger Windows 11 laptop when the Asus finally dies. And then this smaller 11 inch Chromebook will go in my safety box for backup if a disaster hits. (And bring it on trips whenever travel is back to normal.)
  • *Note: I opened up a Chrome browser on my Asus Laptop. Then I set that Chrome browser to "Import Bookmarks" from my Firefox and Edge browsers. Those bookmarks eventually showed up on the new Chromebook including passwords and support data.

Bottom line is that I can't open TP on Chrome without email verification.

(I still have access to TP using my Firefox and Edge browsers.)

I still get blog comment notification emails (confirmed a minute ago), so the TP email system itself should be working okay. Still, it's been temperamental in the past, and it's possible Peter hasn't converted everything to the new setup yet? In which case he should be able to get this back to working when he sees the thread.

Just in case: You checked the spam folder of your email account, to make certain TP emails didn't end up in there?

Yes, I do check the spam filter. No verification email.

From email provider:
"There are no messages in your "Spam" folder."

The same email address works for other incoming emails. I will try again to first get TP to verify my email address using FireFox and Edge. Then work on Google later.

Clicking on Verify this email using FF browser.

From Edge, same same.

  • *Just noticed I have a bunch of Notifications and private messages that I had not noticed before. My apologies, evidently I have not been receiving email notices too. My bad, I have to be more vigilant!

Had a look in my mail logs. The reason you've stopped getting emails is due to this

"Not delivering to a user who marked your messages as spam"

Probably at some point you accidentally flagged one of our notifications as spam and since doing that, our mail service refuses to try again. This is to avoid reputational damage to the email sender which can cause it to get filtered in lots of other places. I will remove your email address from this suppression list and you should be able to get emails again.

This kind of problem is actually the most common reason emails aren't getting through at the moment. Email delivery is working pretty well otherwise.
