Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific Elligible for a second working holiday visa?

Hi guys, thanks for accepting me on this forum.

I was in Australia in 2018 under a 417 WHV, who got transfered into a 403 4 months later as I got an agreement with the company I was working with. During those first 3 months and a half, I worked on a solar farm as a full time employee, in a very rural area of Australia, elligible place for a second WHV. I got to travel around the world a little bit since 2 years and now I’m looking to go back to Australia with a second WHV. I just applied yesterday, I had many documents to prove my case.

However, I just started to wonder if the job I had was considered specified work, although I won’t change my application now, I wanted to have your opinion please. For me it was definitely the case but now I’m starting to worry. I was actually a logistic coordinator, guiding the trucks on site to make sure they deliver the materials at the right spot, checking/counting the amount of deliveries, drawing reports on the computer etc. I was not a labour as of the definition of one, but I was definitely on site full time, 6am to 6pm, walking more than I ever did in my life haha. I worked for 102 days as I was a full time
worker.

Would this fit into the specified work section?

Thanks a lot for your advise :)

Auggy

Unfortunately, I don't think a solar farm falls under any of the industries which are eligible, so the specific work you did there probably won't even matter. I'm not a subject expert, though, so I could be wrong.

I hope you'll get in any way. Good luck!

Thanks tor your reply mate!

Actually it does, as it falls into the construction section. There were around 500 backpackers on my solar farm and many qualified for a second whv :) They had more labour jobs though for most of them.

Thanks though! I guess I will need to get lucky

Maybe not 500 haha but a lot! It was such a huge site (25 square kilometers)

Ah, the solar farm was being constructed?
Then it indeed should fall under construction, as Class 3109 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction: Electricity power plant construction (except buildings), and from your description, it sounds like you were "engaged ... in organising ... these activities", so should be eligible.

Yes it was being constructed! From scratch. I actually did not precise this in my description, oups, hope they would understand it. I guess if that’s the reason of refusal I could still explain my missions more in detail (only 300 words available). Thanks a lot for your answers that really helps!
