Hi, my son has been travelling for some time now and is unvaccinated against covid. He's currently in Mexico and is hoping to make a short trip home to the UK in the next few weeks. Obviously his unvaccinated status gives us a number of issues but the one I'm finding difficult to get answers to is can he transit through airports in the US, France or Holland, which seem to be the best flight routes? Any advice would be appreciated.

I assume your son is a UK citizen?

US: It is normal for all international travellers, including those in transit, to go through US Customs (i.e. Border Control). All travellers must provide proof of full vaccination and a negative test. Only a very few exemptions apply to unvaccinated travellers and I doubt your son will meet any of the exemption criteria (see detail below):

The UK is a non-EU, non-Schengen country. Mexico is not on the Netherlands list of safe countries:
