Hey everyone, I hope you're not letting this covid stuff affect your epic travels :)

I'm about to get my US visitor visa and travel to the states for the first time in my life, I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina and I'm vaccinated with Pfizer. However, I only have a paper document verification that I'm vaccinated, with the stamp of the health authorities from my city, but I don't have a QR code.

I traveled to Austria (Europe lol) and then to Mexico with this vaccination document, but I don't know if they will accept it in the USA or if I have to get a QR code somehow, which I also wouldn't know how to get here.

Would love to hear some experiences from people traveling from the Balkan area, or some non-EU citizens. I can also post my verification if that would help.

There is no US requirement for all proofs of vaccination to have a QR code.

You can see US proof-of-vaccination requirements here:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html#vaccine-proof

I think your document would fall into the second 'acceptable proof' category. If you're still worried you could contact the US Embassy in Sarajevo and ask them to confirm that your document is acceptable: https://ba.usembassy.gov/author/usembassysarajevo/

PS >I can also post my verification if that would help.

Please don't do that, here or on any other website/forum. You don't want someone creating fraudulent documents using your information!

I would have suggested that as the obvious first step if I'd known you hadn't yet had your visa interview!

The certainty of the wording in your first post ( >I'm about to get my US visitor visa and travel to the states <;) implies that you'd already been granted your visa and were just waiting for e.g. your passport to be returned. :-)

Please see this additional requirement for all travelers, including U.S. citizens, entering the United States:
