Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has any advice, would be much appreciated. My brother is getting married in early September on the Amalfi Coast. We're looking to organize a 3/4 day bachelors vibe for around 10 of us just before that. I've been researching which islands would be best, seems to be between Capri and Ischia. We're arriving in Naples on Friday so was thinking of having a big night in Naples that night then cruising the next day to Capri or Ischia or wherever. Would be looking to rent a luxury big villa right near the beach and close to bars, restaurants, clubs etc. We're basically looking for a place with great beaches but also fun nightlife and things to do. Any ideas on where would be best for 3/4 days? Would do a day on a yacht for sure and any other ideas or cool activities to do on any of the close islands?? Thanks so much :)

Easy decision, imo.

>We're basically looking for a place with great beaches

Capri's beaches are few and tiny. The coast is rocky and its shoreline is often inaccessible. Its little coves (mostly rocks, pebbles and shingle) are mostly accessed by steep steps or pathways.

Capri has just two settlements (Capri Town and Anacapri), both of which are very small. There is only one 'proper' road plus a network of tiny lanes, most of which can only be accessed by tiny electric vehicles. Non-resident vehicles are only allowed on the island between November and Easter.

Ischia is an entirely different sort of island with long stretches of easily-accessible sandy beach. https://www.ischiainsider.com/en/e/ischia-italy-beaches

Ischia also has a network of roads, thermal pools, far more restaurants & bars and a much wider range of nightlife than Capri.

Backing up Leics here (waving hello at my good mate)!

I've spent a couple of nights on Capri and don't think it's for you if a beach scene is what you're looking for. Can't weigh in on Ischia as we haven't had the pleasure yet but the beaches are supposed to be superior to what Capri can offer.

Wow thanks so much for taking the time to reply! Maybe we'll do just 1 night in Capri then stay a few nights in Ischia. Would you recommend anywhere in particular to stay in Ischia?! Thanks again for your help! :)

Capri is lovely for walking, nature & landscape but imo, unless you're into that, one night (or even one day) would be enough. Capri Town is tiny, Anacapri is tinier, everything is very expensive, there are frequent ferry services from Sorrento and Naples and it's a *very* popular daytrip for holidaymakers along the Amalfi coast.

Where you stay will largely depend on a) where you find a suitable villa (if you do find one) and b) whether you choose to hire a car/cars.

As you want a good choice of bars, restaurants, nightlife & activities you should base yourselves in (or near, assuming car/cars or budget to cover taxis) Forio..the main town....or Ischia Porto, which is best for nightlife.
