Hi there,

Wondering if others are having the same issue as me and what the solution could be.

When I try to log in on my laptop, I get an 'IP address blocked' message. I was already logged in to my blog on my phone when I noticed this, and I thought everything was OK with the blog there, but I've since discovered that although I am able to view everything OK on my phone, when I tried to send a contact form about this issue on it, an 'IP address blocked' message appeared again. I haven't dared log out on my phone, in case I can't get back into again.

Confused about why this is happening because I'm at home, where I usually log in from.

I've tried logging in using both Chrome and Microsoft Edge on my laptop but it hasn't made any difference.

I've tried sending a contact form about this issue using both my laptop and my phone, but I find in both cases it won't send because it tells me my IP address is blocked.

Typing this on my phone and fingers crossed it will send!

Any help would be very gratefully received, as my laptop is where I update my blog from and I can't currently log in from there at all.

Do they send a notice to your email address with a pin number?

This happens to me sometimes when switching computers. But usually they send me an email with a sign-in pin.

Check your email?

I occasionally get a message saying it has detected I'm somewhere new (even though I'm nearly always not actually anywhere new) and an email with a sign-up pin. But with my current problem, I don't get that at all. I just get an 'ID address blocked' message!

Goodfish has just messaged me to say that she's got the 'IP address blocked' thing as well.

It's obviously a glitch. Hopefully Peter will see this thread soon and fix things.

I'm trying to send a message to the "Contact Us" link and getting that message. So I can't report anything.

This should be fixed now.

This problem wasn't to do with my code specifically. Something changed in code that the site depends on and when I uploaded the changes on Friday, it picked up those changes and broke how the IPs are fetched. It basically thought we were all on the same IP address and that resulted in everyone getting blocked from logging in.

I've reworked my code to handle this new situation and it should be detecting the correct IPs again.
