The vignette in Switzerland is annual so there is a good chance your rental car will already have one affixed to the windshield. Check that before you spend the 40 Euros to buy a new one.

Hi, I plan to go on 15 day vacation to Croatia with my family.
We will surely visit Dubrovnik and Split but we are mostly interested in yacht charter since we would like to visit as many island as we can. Any suggestions where to start, what islands to see?

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

I'm not sure where I'm going on vacation in 2023 yet. I haven't even started planning for this year's vacation yet. I'm thinking of somewhere in Europe, perhaps France or Italy.

Quoting amyst

I am planning my summer vacation now and have couple of questions here.
If i understand it correct, i need to order a vignette for Switzerland and so far i found this website to do it Is it alright to do it online or should we just get it somewhere next to the border?

You can easily purchase the vignette when you come to the border. If you're on side roads, there will be signs and you will know where to stop. On the AutoRoutes, you will be stopped at the border and sold a vignette before you can continue. It's all very easy.

I haven't been there for quite a while, but we needed a vignette for Austria too. These are timed so you pay less if you are driving there a shorter time. We bought one for a week. In Switzerland, you buy one for a full year no matter how long you stay. Both are very easy to purchase.

Be sure to check with your rental car company and make sure you can take the rental car into all the countries you have planned. You will need to be insured for all of them and have permission from the rental company for all of them. They may supply the vignettes for you if you're lucky.

Enjoy your trip.
