Dear travelers,

Have you ever visited a farm or agricultural destination as a tourist or volunteer?

Did you have any experience in this trip which changed your thinking/behavior, or led to a life changing decision, or changed the way you view the world?

If yes, kindly respond to this topic or send me a message. I would like to invite you to share your experience in an online conversation.

I am currently pursuing my master thesis in Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria. Your help will be crucial towards completing my study.

Thank you.

I don't think I have specificaly visited a farm. I have gained wonderful experiences from travel, but not changed my life as a result of any of it.

Thank you for your response. It could be a visit to any agricultural destination with which you can associate any change within you or your thinking.

We often stay on farms when we visit France. In fact we stayed on a haras (stud farm) on our last trip in September. My paternal grandparents had a farm so visiting one is not lifechanging for me. We just enjoy the busy life, the good food and the animals. The haras had a gite cat that we got to care for during our stay.

I can imagine staying on a working farm if you had grow up in a city would be quite an experience. I hope you will share some of your results with us.

But I haven't changed my thinking as a result of any agricultural destination.

I grew up in a city. My parents were from rural locations, and we went camping out west in the USA when I was 10. We visited a relative who had goats and rode horses. But while it was fun, I didn't change my thinking at all.

As a family, we took road trips, and we spent time in the summer on Cape Cod where my sister and I went to Science School. Science School was what changed my thinking when I was a child. I majored in Zoology in college and became a science teacher.

As an adult, the trip that changed my thinkinng the most was living on a sailboat in the winter for a couple of years. It required a different skill set than living on land.

Thank you for your response. I will definitely share the results once I am done. I am still looking for interviewees at the moment, so it will take some time.

Dear travelers,
I am still short of few interviews. If your answer is yes to those two questions in my original post, then kindly response. I appreciate all your efforts to help me out.

Hi Rabin. We've stayed often on farms when visiting Europe and although they were not life changing, I would be happy to do an online interview with you to help you complete your assignment. (I'm a retired teacher so appreciate your work.)
