unusual places in Los Angeles
Quick, and free, Google type search with a computer will give many suggestions.
When I was there (other than the airport) was a long time ago. Some tourists visit for the chance encounter with celebrities. I kind of enjoyed a visit to La Brea Tar Pits.

Have fun.
You can start with this article I wrote about Los Angeles (and the other four posts)
https://zzlangerhans.travellerspoint.com/565/
In brief: Griffith Observatory, Toy District, Little Tokyo, Grand Central Market, Original Farmers Market, Square Mixx, La Brea Tar Pits, Echo Park Time Travel Mart, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Venice, Smorgasburg LA, Angels Flight, The Last Bookstore, Mulholland Drive, El Mercadito de Los Angeles
These are some of the places we visited:Watts Towers, the Queen Mary at Long Beach, Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Queen Mary is closed right now, reopening date unknown. It needs major repairs (as in millions of $$$) to keep it from sinking.
