I am a guy from the US and going to Nepal for a week in end of December for about a week. I have been to Nepal before but that was 9 years ago. I will be staying at the Radisson and Hyatt regency hotel in Kathmandu. -snip- I am super excited to try all the local Nepalese dishes. Maybe I will spend 2 days in Pokhara. How is the visa on arrival process for tourists? Thank you!

Very easy. Go to kiosk, fulfill form with passport info and length of stay ( 14, 30, 90 days), pay for visa with $, welcome to Nepal!
But before border you have to show some paper about your COVID vaccination

Non-citizens are highly unlikely to be granted entry to any country with an expired passport!

It's also highly unlikely any airline would even allow you to board. Airlines can be fined substantial amounts if they carry passengers without the correct documents for entering the destination country.

I suggest you organise a new passport asap, even if you have to pay more for expedited processing. If you don't you probably won't even leave your departure airport...

That's very different from ' My passport expire on July 22 this year'!!

India and Nepal both require passports to have a minimum of 180 days (roughly 6 months) validity on entry so you should be ok in that respect.

yeah my bad! i hope I am okay with my current passport. i would hate to waste hours sitting and waiting in a room trying to get my passport expedited in 2 days.

That's entirely up to you. Personally, I'd far rather have more time remaining on a passport than less.

thats true for me as well but i can renew it months before my next international travel.
i just wanted to be very safe for this travel.
