Jesus I got flamed in this thread my bad- it was just an idea but y'all killed my confidence I went ahead and cancelled my flights. Thanks!

When you travel things always go wrong. If you are discouraged by a few posts on a forum to the point of cancelling the entire trip then how would you manage when a border entry officer decides they don't like your onward travel plans or you can't prove adequate funds to their satisfaction (remembering that a visa does not guarantee entry and border officials make the final decision).

etc.

So is the whole thing a joke?

Because, in context, world is facing massive problems with climate change and aircraft flights are a major contributor. Hence when I travel I take a long haul to a region and stay there for a long time, travelling round using local buses, boats (all low carbon). Last trip 3 months Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand & Burma. Could have done with longer in each country as I still have loads of amazing places to see in those countries (but Covid happened). But at least I'm making good use of the carbon pollution from occasional long haul flights. If we don't dramatically reduce our climate pollution we face making large parts of the world uninhabitable whilst devastating the other parts. And we can't rely on everybody else to do enough.

Hi Jimmy!

What I understand during last years - if there is an opportunity to travel, then every chance should be used. It's better to regret what you did than what you didn't do.
Here is the experience from my last trip to Europe:

How I wish to travel each continent but in a span of 2 years... I don't think I have enough funds. But would it be great if you stick for 1 continent in a year so you'd not miss other countries and cities?

Good luck on your journey though!

I have currently been to 125 countries including Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen.

If you have been to so many countries why another rushed trip now? I would assume with such extensive experience you would already have an idea of which places you want to return to for an in depth journey Are you trying to break some record? Or are you the personality type that feels the need to be always on the move and can't stand down time?

For me your itinerary sounds like you're spending more time getting to destinations than enjoying destinations. Coming from Australia travelling to most destinations is long enough already. I don't think I could tolerate a whole trip of it. I'm more of a slow traveller, I pick a region stay there for about six weeks before I move on. I even stayed in French Polynesia for three weeks just to see different archipelagos, apparently the average FP trip is only one week (though I guess you will be one day) so I'm real slow The only way I could join your trip is probably by meeting you in one city for the day you will be there.

Anyway good luck with your trip and make, sure to eat and sleep well, the reality is you will be older than your last trip and what you may have been able to tolerate then might not be as easy now so do look after yourself;).
