I'm planning a trip through Italy in June and July. I'm a single guy semi-retired and I love Europe. I'm from the east coast of America and recently returned from a sailing trip in Croatia and Greece. I'm a non-smoker, healthy, active, and have no baggage or hangups. I hope to travel by car and train starting in Milan and working my way south to Sicilia. I plan to use BnBs and hotels and expect to cover much of the cost. My dates are flexible.

I really advise you to visit Lake Como! You will be completely delighted and there you can rent a hotel of an average price but with amazing views from your window!
Yes, I know. I’ve been there for several days and plan to start my trip there. I think this is my 4th time in Italy.

When I was young and healthier (and not so old and flatulent) I had the dumb luck to work for the US military in Sicily. At Sigonella, located near Catania. I had a good time! Some of the places I recall were Siracusa, Palermo, Mt. Etna and Taormina. Agrigento and Siricusa have ancient ruins. Catania had some old catacombs.

Sounds interesting. I hope to. I’ve got the time and , by God’s grace, still healthy. I hate traveling alone but I done it successfully and enjoyed it. Everyday was an adventure.
Interesting, there i lot hear about Pompeii which is so famous in Italy because of its archaeological site in southern Italy, near the coast of the Bay of Naples. You can go there its an interesting place.
