Sadly, only nine for me: Moldova, San Marino, Timor Leste, Tonga, Guinea-Bissau (including the Bijagos archipelago), Mauritania, Solomon Islands, Afghanistan and Sao Tome & Principe. Hope to add more. Now also focusing on regions such as those on the NomadMania list. Among the places visited last year: Channel Islands (Guernsey, Sark, Jersey), Northeast India (six-week road trip in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur), the sub-Antarctic islands of Australia and New Zealand (Macquarie Island, Auckland Islands, The Snares, Campbell Island). Most thrilling experience, ever: Hiking active volcanoes in Kamchatka, including Tolbachik and Mutnovsky (photo below).0B53C5F2D3A1212B310400704C07715A.jpg

Only St Vincent, some of the Grenadines, and Dominica for me. And only a couple of countries on that list are on my radar - Moldova (and Transnistria) and North Korea.

I'm finding I'm repeating countries a lot, seeing places I like in more depth. For example, my current planning is an Iceland road trip, which will be my third visit to the country.

I'm not very interested in arid landscapes. Mainly glaciers, volcanoes, interesting landforms, architecture, and places with a bit of life.

I'm very envious of Berner's Kamchatka trip. That's high up my post-retirement list when I'll be able to do longer trips.

Seven (including Somalia at the bottom of the list) so far with Moldova to come in a couple of days. Would have travelled through Turkmenistan by now if Covid hadn't reared its ugly head in 2020.

I'm on 11 and I must say Equatorial Guinea is really easy if you have a USA passport. No visa and on the island where Malabo is - no hassles, no security issues. San Marino - super easy. Book Ryanair to Rimini and take the bus there.

Agreed, San Marino was a doddle. We had a train from Venice to Rimini and took the local bus to SM. It was a great place to stay for a couple of nights. Tonga is easy if you live in the South Pacific area and the Caribbean Islands are fairly easy if you live in the Americas. Djibouti's straightforward too.

Yemen used to be 'easy', but (like Syria and a few others) not the best choice.

Waiting on Libya to reopen to tourists. The Taliban will have Afgan Tours by next year I predict...

Syria was great in 2019 - but not for US passport holders. We're looking to go to North Africa - Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya but that might be difficult to sort out in one go.

Afghan tours - not so sure. Perhaps for men only, the way the regime is going!

@DAOonVT - what happened to no 27???!

After a bit of Googling, 27 might be Liechtenstein - been there!
