Hi All!

I am currently on a working holiday 417 visa and going to leave the country to enter on a 476 visa.

I have done the required 88 days of work to request a second working holiday (417) visa.

Would it be possible for me to request a second working holiday visa once the 476 has run out? Or is it not allowed to have a different visa between the first and second working holiday visa?

Thanks all!

You can request a second year WHV while outside of Australia, years after your first WHV (just as long as you haven't turned 31/36 yet (depending on citizenship)), so having been in Australia on another visa in between is no problem.

You can even apply for that second year WHV while in Australia on another visa, but I'm not 100% certain if that's true for the 476 (it needs to be a "substantive visa" - ah, found it, the 476 is the "Skilled—Recognised Graduate visa" - that sounds like it should indeed count as "substantive", yeah).

Just be aware that if you're in Australia when you apply, you must remain in Australia until they've made a decision - and I think that if it's indeed granted, it starts its validity period "immediately". If you want to stay in Australia, depending on the terms of the 476, you should probably apply before that has fully expired, rather than after. If on the other hand you want to leave the country when your 476 expires, and then apply for your second year 417, that should be no problem at all.
