Millions of tourists from India visit Thailand. If you have not been there before you can give it a visit.
From reading some of the many posts by Indian tourists on Thailand forums, too often your fellow tourists choose short visits but want to see more than time allows.
Google type search will give you some information pertaining to the month you want to travel. (Different places different prevailing weather. More or less rain.) Christmas-New Years holiday season most expensive for flights and hotel costs.
Below map shows various cities popular with tourists. My opinion, Bangkok is always worth a visit anytime. If interested in beaches Google up the weather for the place you want to visit.

Ask your wife to choose the destination. if she is not happy with her choice she cannot blame you! 
- Only you know how far you want to travel. Only you know how much per day you want to spend on your holiday NOT including the cost of your plane ride. Only you know know the month you want to travel. (This affects the weather you get at your destination.)
- Stop in a local travel agency in your town and talk to them. Advice is free. Do not commit to their suggestions until you do your own research. Stop in more than one travel agency for different suggestions. If you can purchase your own flights and arrange your own hotels you will save money.
