Has anyone applied for the long stay French tourist visa before? I am from the UK and looking to visit France for more than 3 months. It says I have to give proof of accommodation (which can just be an Airbnb for the first week for example), but I realise I then need to provide more savings. Does anyone know the amount of savings I need for this?

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

There is no set figure. You must show proof that you have enough money to support yourself (accomm, food, transport etc) for the whole of your stay. For a stay longer than 3 months I'd expect you to need several 1000GBP ...or have solid proof of a regular wage which will cover all your expenses.

If you do not have a pension but intend to live off savings then you need to demonstrate that you have enough in your bank account to cover €1,353 for every month of your visa. So to cover the daily living requirement to have a one-year visa that would be €16, 236. Dated: Feb 17, 2023

Ok, thank you. I've seen varying information. Some saying for the days without accommodation sorted I need to show I have savings amounting to 120 euros a day, whereas if I have a place I only need around 60 euros a day. But this might have changed. Thanks.
