Hi, I will have a business trip to Tokyo in September and I plan to go a few days earlier to travel to the outskirt of tokyo.
I was told by a Japanese many years ago that there is a city that is approximately 3 or 2 hours away from tokyo by train, a very nice town with onsen and very nice food. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the town. Is there any place that you can recommend for a 3 -4 days break outside of tokyo ?
Thank you very much
Tehsi

One place that fits your description is Hakone. It's a popular getaway spot from Tokyo, known for its scenic beauty, onsen (hot springs), and delicious food.

Lake Kawaguchiko in Yamanashi Prefecture is also good. The reflection of Fujiyama on the water is something worth seeing.

My Japanese boss told me about this place a while back, and one day, he surprised me by taking me to Hakone
We didn't go to the onsen, but I still had a great time exploring the other attractions of the place, including my first time riding the Tokaido Shinkansen.
