Applying for my B1/B2 visa for my trip to the USA, and declaring my criminal conviction, but
My conviction, and the visa interview, how much detail must I go into my conviction, so can I get away with a few words
I was charged with breach of the peace, back in 1994, and plead guilty and fined £500
My offence was to have sent a number of offensive texts to a female colleague

It's very hard for anyone to know. It comes down to the interviewing officer on the day. And not necessarily their whim or judgement but the guidance they've to follow, which isn't public.
My opinion: it's a long time ago, and relatively mild. They may well not dwell on it too much.

No-one here or anywhere else can answer that question. As Andy says, it's entirely down to the officer who interviews you. He/she will be working not only under US law but also within official regulations and guidelinesd which are not in the public domain.
Visa decisions are made on the circumstances and details (both past and present) of each individual applicant.
Best advice for your interview is to remain courteous and polite throughout, answer all the questions honestly and give any and all details required by the interviewing officer.
