As Reece has put me to shame by checking in from Vancouver already, i thought i had better make an effort to post something.

My night stopover in Bangkok was uneventful, few beers, jet-lagged, heavy cold, trying to fight the tiredness to make a night of it etc. Been in Vietnam 12 days now. Not done too many touristy things around Saigon as i've done them before. Off to Nha Trang tomorrow for some beach time and hopefully more partying. Got a flight for $39 US which is pretty cheap. Not sure how long i will be there. Hope to do Phu Quoc and the mekong delta in the next 2 weeks as well. Maybe have a few days in Mui Ne as some friends have recommended it. First week i seemed to spend meeting up with and getting hopelessly with Aussies. So, if you're an Aussie and you're in Saigon, leave me alone because my liver hurts now!!!!

Finding it difficult keeping up with TP but have popped in every now and then. Hope everybody is well, i will have a beer for you all tonight if you're stuck at home and fed up with work etc.

What type of martinis do they have in Saigon????

Sounds like you are making the most of your trip so far!! Any pubs or bars you haven't visited yet??? We'll try to keep the Aussies at bay but they can be tenacious when it comes to BEER!!!!

Have a great time and do keep us posted!!!

Dave! Looks like you're having a great time! Don't worry about your liver; it'll regenerate. It's the brain cells you're killing you should be worried about! It's Grand-Prix weekend in Montreal, so I'll be doing my own share of cell-killing. ;) Do check back with us again soon!

I'm in Nha Trang now, i was just about to calm down on the partying when i discovered buckets of vodka and orange for 40,000 dong, which is just a little more than $2 US. I think Nha Trang and me will part company in a couple of days and then i will head to Mui Ne. I have tried posting a few things lately but the internet seems to crash every time i submit something!!!!

Spent yesterday covered in mud, and indulged in a mineral spa etc etc. You can't beat a good bit of pampering. Day before was spent on monkey island, feeding the monkeys was great, having to endure viets singing throughout the whole boat trip, and then sit through an animal show where the bears are high on coke and generally kept in bad conditions was not so great. There were about 6 foreign tourists and i noticed none of them seemed to be enjoying the show, but the viets were loving it.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I will have a break from the partying tonight. The food here is wonderful and cheap too. You can have an absolute feast of seafood for about $5 US plus a drink in a nice restaurant, or you can get an amazing chicken soup from a street vendor for 8,000 dong which is about 50 cents. I'm returning to the uk on 7th July for a wedding and to finish completion of the house sale. I leave Vietnam on 27 June so i have 9 days to play with so i'm thinking of going somewhere i've not been before and somewhere that's easy and cheap to fly to from Bangkok, any ideas would be gratefully received, though Malaysia is favourite so far.
