Hi there,

I'm planning to come to Canada later this year after I finish Uni and before I join the real world. I want to stay for at least a month and snowboard as much as I can afford. I dont really know where to go, but am after some challenging runs.

I'm guessing that I'm going to end up renting a room for the duration of my stay, but I cant find anywhere on the net that offers this.

To be honest, I would be grateful for any information that anyone can offer on the subject. Or whether I'd be best to get a job when out there, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Do a search on Fernie BC.
Somewhat out of the way-prices a tad lower than many places and some great facilities.

Hey whats up

I am currently working at Whistler Blackcomb and could help you out a lot if you were interested in working there. Almost all the jobs include a lift pass to both mountains, which is a pretty sweet deal. For full time employees there is staff housing which is situated right on the mountain and ranges from $300-450 a month including utilities and cable. YTou didn't really specify when you were planning on doing this but as of now there probably are some jobs available. The season slows right down in April and doesn't really pick up again until December.

Hope this helps!

I'm from nz and am thinking of working the 04/05 ski season in Canada. I've been researching Fernie and Lake Louise but want an opinion from someone who has worked or ridden there. Have done a season at Mammoth in the U.S and loved it, but I'd like to work at a smaller, less busy resort but still with good terrain, and also good nightlife. Any suggestions?
