I have to go back home, I am planing to drive my car from Vancouver to Ottawa, planing to go through the USA.
I don't have winter tires, do you think I can make it ? I already have winter tires at home in Ottawa and buying some news tires here would coast. Plus if I buy them means I have to leave my summer tires, and buy news ones in Ottawa.
Have you drove this long without winter tires in November- December ?

Thanks for your advise

Check your tires. You may have "all season" tires that are better than regular tires. But not as good as real snow tires.

Maybe best to get started now vs next month!

Good luck.

We were driving from Maryland to California in December and my parents gave us their old snow tires to use. We were in a snow storm in Kansas when the snow tires went flat one at a time. So each time my husband had to put a spare on and go buy a tire. Using the old snow tires did not save us any money or aggravation.

Use the tires you have and take a good set of tire chains with you. In the mountains here, even if you have snow tires, often you are required to put chains on. Easier to just use your own tires and carry chains . . . and hope you don't need them.

Have a safe trip.
