I need to be on the Mediterranean

Hello everyone,

I think the best thing for me to do is explain my situation and ask for suggestions.

I live in northern California and I've been here way too long. I really have to take a long trip ASAP. I'm sure you know the feeling. I love the sun and the beach more than I can describe. Pondering my destination for a while, I think Mediterranean Europe is the place for me. I've never been away from North America unless you count Hawaii.

I have a business that I will need to manage over the Internet about every other day. The business is profitable but I have a lot of debt payments every month so my budget is extremelly tight. I think I can get a cheap flight by flying into a hub via a studentuniverse.com fare and then taking one of those small flights wherever. I plan to one-way each way as the fares I'm looking at don't seem to discount round-trip tickets.

How and where can I hang out on the beach and in the sun as cheaply as possible? I plan to do some revenue-increasing things with my business and I will branch out if that works out, but I should at least start in an extremelly cheap location and situation to be safe.

Hello Grant,

Have you thought about Spain? The weather is quite warm in the coast during all the year, and it's said that it's one of the cheapest country in Europe... I can't say if it's true or not, because in fact I live in Spain! and as I've never lived anywhere else, I cannot say if that's a truth or a rumour... :ยท)
I live in Girona region, very near from Costa Brava, and I can assure you that it's one of the best places to stay in Spain... the weather is always very nice, not very cold nor hot, and very accessible from everywhere.
If you have any questions you can ask me!

Best Regards,

[ Edit: Sorry, no promotions please... ]

Hi Grant,
You could consider going to Greece, particularly a Greek island. They have beautiful beaches, hot summers and pleasant winters, but there is a lot to see and explore as well. There is also so much choice as there are countless islands to choose from. I think Greece is a fairly cheap country as well. My favourite island is Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea, it was the setting for Captain Corelli's Mandarin. I have been to Kefalonia and also on a trip round the Greek islands so ask me if you need any advice!

Thanks guys, I'm all set going to the Greek Island of Corfu with a stopover in Munich for a little bit. Sound pretty good?
