Travel Forums System Talk cloudflare challenge made me lose a reply

For the second time in a couple of months, I just lost a large-ish reply I was making with travel advice, due to a cloudflare challenge page (where I have the JavaScript blocked by default, like all third party script, so I have to unblock the script, and reload). This sucks. I understand the benefit for keeping out spam scripts, but please remove such barriers for Full Members and above?! (Also test the flow where you have ublock origin set up to block all 3rd party script so have to do the reload, and see if you can get the textarea to re-display the submitted text rather than the quoted text, since losing a reply also sucks for new members.)

Hmm, that does suck :(

There isn't really a way to turn off these checks based on membertitles - it happens before the request makes it to the server. Unless we set a cookie with a secret key that bypasses the firewall I suppose, but that would be a fair bit of fiddling around to achieve and be a bit of a security hole as well if someone worked out the key.

For now, I've dialled back how aggressive that particular rule set was. It doesn't really catch a huge amount of junk anyway - there are other much more aggressive rules that catch the bulk of the bad actors. Please let me know if you're still seeing the challenge at all. I can drop it one more level if it's still triggering.

Will check over if I can improve how the the submitted text is kept.

I saw the screen twice yesterday (before you changed things), both for the same re-written post which caused me to post this thread - but the last time I saw it before that was months ago - so it's going to be hard to say for certain that it's better now. Still, if it doesn't get better, I'll be sure to let you know! :)

edit: I tried copy/pasting the text of the offending post here to see if that would trigger the screen again, but this time it didn't, so that at least is hopeful.
