Odd question...but my wife and I really want to experience the Camino de Santiago (we live in Spain). But our kids are 5 months and 18 months old.
Has anyone done the Camino with young kids?
Did you actually walk a lot of it...or just walk a specific park which was still worthwhile?
Maybe I should wait until they are older and we can walk a good stretch.
But we talk about it all the time. Thought this was the right place to ask!

Wait until they are a bit older. If you do it now, they won't remember anything. That is something they will want to remember. Our kids weren't very good at hiking until they were about 5. They started much earlier but it was more fun for all of us when they grew up a little.

My kids started walking trails with us when they were 5 and 3. And the 3 year old sometimes had to be carried. I don't think she remembers much of it - the 5 year old does remember.

If you just had the 5 month old, you could do it because babies that age are pretty portable, but it wouldn't be at all memorable for him/her. But I wouldn't do it with two especially if one of them was walking.

If you want them to remember the trip - wait 5 or 6 years. If you don't care whether they are involved in the experience - get a baby sitter and walk by yourselves a little of it and see how it goes.
