i'm going to thailand for 2 months, likely to go to bangkok, ko samui, krabi etc

seen though that there are a few good dj's playing while i am out there so am looking forward to going to clubs.
Just wondering if they are strict on whether you wear shorts or jeans, as i was not planning on bringing a pair of jeans.

I always found the clubs that I've been to to be pretty casual. The only thing they seem to require is Money.

Living in Thailand as long as I have I learned there is a non-spoken dress code. Most clubs and restaurant will let you in no matter how you dress but if you want excellent service, a great table and be treated with respect you will need to dress properly.

In the evening t-shirts, shorts and sandles are a no no. You should wear a nice shirt or blouse tucked in with a belt, long pants or nice skirt or dress, nice shoes with socks for men and good looking shoes for women.

Thailand is a status minded country. The nicer you look the more respect you gain. If you dress like a slob you will be treated like one. You might get a table near the bathroom or far from the stage (if live music) or away from the romantic view of the river etc.

If you dress properly you will be waited on promptly, get the good table and make many Thai friends.

First appearances mean a lot in Thailand as in any other country.
