Ever travel to a place simply because of a local or international Holiday such as Halloween, Christmas, New Years Eve, or maybe "that countries" independance day just to experiance a holiday somewhere else?
I have been to New York City during Christmas to see the Christmas decorations at Rock Center and have been to Norway on their Independance day, but that just worked out to be part of a larger month long trip to Norway. I have also been to New Zealand on Guy Fox day, which is also my Birthday and Gurnsey Island on their Independance day.

We were in Malta in August. Our last day there happened to accidently be their Victory Day. And we were in the right place to see re-enactments and tons of people in era garb. We had no idea of the celebrations that day, but we were happy to have lucked out to be in the middle of it.
Mentioned recently elsewhere, we were in Lima on an Easter Sunday a few years back. We DID plan for this one. Interesting but not nearly as fun as Victory Day.

In 1996, we were in Barbados for the USA Thanksgiving and also on November 30th for Bajan Independence Day.
We tended to travel at Thanksgiving to avoid saying which child we would spend Thanksgiving with, so in 1995 we were in Bermuda at Thanksgiving and the hotel had a lavish buffet with some USA traditional Thanksgiving foods. In 1997, we spent Thanksgiving on a sailboat in the US Virgin Islands.
After we retired, we would go south in our boat at the end of October and come back north in March. So we spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in various places in the USA. The first year we had Thanksgiving and Christmas with our children, but on New Years we were on a mooring off Rickenbacker Key and i was able to watch 4 fireworks displays - Miami, Miami Beach, Crandon Park (?) and Coconut Grove.
The following year we were in Fernandina FL at Thanksgiving . Some of the boaters in the anchorage are having a potluck (the lady from WINDIGO went out to the grocery and got a small turkey yesterday), but someone comes around and invites everyone to the Methodist Church for free turkey dinner. They post a sign on the dinghy dock. I decide that we should do that, although Bob thinks that is only for the homeless. I tell him Fernandina doesn't have homeless, only boat people. We walked up to the dinner, which was excellent, and Bob made a donation.

I don't know if I have ever traveled to a place specifically for their holiday. But I have been in the Netherlands on King's Day, and I was in Costa Rica on their Mother's Day (which is in September). I have been to Cozumel at Christmas (on a cruise), and near Christmas on regular visit, but I didn't visit for that. I have thought of visiting some of the Caribbean islads for their havest festivals, but I don't like visiting places when there are crowds of people. So when I visited where a TV show was filmed, I did it before filming started because I didn't want to fight for a hotel reservation.
