So who's still here from way back when?
I just received a Facebook Friendversary saying I've been friends with Anne Reinstein for 12 years when it's been more like 20 years since our days of TP when we would all spend hours and hours posting on here.
Hope all you old timers are all doing well x

*waves* Ooh, you predate me by exactly two weeks!
Veeeery few others still actively around from back then (besides Peter), but we got some new blood in when VirtualTourist e.a. closed down a couple of years ago, and it's all still chugging along.
Any interesting placed you traveled to recently? Or good plans for the near future?

Hi Sander,
I didn't think there would be but after thinking I had known Anne for alot longer I thought I would login and check several old posts.
My travelling days ended around 2012 when we had our honeymoon in Italy and 2 days later we got out first dog. I then swore while we had dogs I would never leave them to go abroad. So all our holidays were then UK based.
So apart from Scotland, England and Wales no mad adventures for me. Think I travelled myself out when I did a crazy sell my house and take 3 years out between 2005 and 2008.
Hope you're well.
Quoting Sander

I don't post or read much anymore. Still use the blogging and photos, though.
Still travel a bit, but not enough to be useful information for others, mostly because I don't research anymore and just go with the flow. Also a lot of ski trips.

I traveled most years until I had kids 7,5 years ago...really need to get back into it.

Nikki just wrote me about this thread. Blast from the past!
I joined in 2004 when I was bored at my job and dreaming of travel. I sort of dropped of in 2009 after having Sarah, and I haven't really been back much since, but see a lot of you in other spaces. I had to reset my password too!
We still travel as much as we can. This year it's Panama, Belfast, and them I'm off to Lithuania again to visit newfound family. Toronto Islands for a week too!
I miss Gretchen a lot and think of her often. This was a really important part of my life for many years and I am glad to know you all.

Hiiiiiiii
Bit like Tina, Nikki made the clarion call to say about this thread. Had forgotten my password & the reminder went to junk mail!!
I joined - Member since Jan 22, 2006 trying to think where l was going maybe Vietnam maybe China? Or maybe it was when l was going to Australia & NZ who knows
The hours (& l mean hours) spent on MSN talking was
wild!!
Gretchen was a legend (& Kris) a fantastic friend and gave such spot on advice with zero judgement. Kris doesn’t have social media but Jase might still be in touch.
I’ve had pleasure of meeting so many of you as well (@Greg we really do need to grab a beer lm in town often enough!!) which l think was highlight for me.
Do l still travel? Well we take holidays for sure l don’t have bandwidth or brain power to plan the way l used and book my own trips so tend to just use agents!
Last year Iceland, Sicily & North Wales! This year off to Kenya on Saturday for safari (l have not been so exited about a trip in so long!) Belfast in June (Tina??) and think Istanbul maybe September.
H x

Jan 21st 2005 I joined which would have been just before I started the 1st part of my trips around the world.
Still gutted I missed the chance to meet Gretchen and Kris while I was in the US.
I looked into it but even though I travelled through 31 states they were quite some distance from our planned itinerary and I was travelling with 2 other people in a hire car who had no interest in changing plans.
TP was the catalyst in planning all my travels way back then.
After my travels ended in 2008 I moved from Norfolk in the UK to Manchester, met my wife in 2009, got married in 2012, got our first dog 2 weeks after getting married, then 2 more dogs (now down to 2 again) and we are now planning a move to Scotland.
