Pretty good guess that your hotel can advise you about a few restaurants nearby.
over the years (55 of them) i have learned that personal recommendations are far more valuable than people behind desks in hotels, particularly on the sorely missed VT.
(3) Different folks, different strokes!
Overseas, I eat mostly to survive now. I have had my share of eating "new" stuff for the heck of it a long time ago! Not interested in eating various parts of an animal that most people ignore or throw away. 
I am okay with Souvlaki or Gyros in pita wraps. Also okay with a Western breakfast in hotels sometimes.
I have no problem with ice cream, pastries, coffee and beer in most countries.
