Hello travellers,
I would like to know how many baggages do airlines allow one passenger to carry onto the plane.
I am thinking of carrying a school backpack and a carry on luggage with wheels...
And are the rules applicable to most airlines around the world as I am doing a RTW...

I think it depends on the airline. You should probably call or go in on th airline's website.

as a rule i reakon they all state you are allowed one piece but you can always get away with at least 2!!!!unless obviously its some super huge thing!!!!I manage to sneak 3 on a couple of weeks ago with singapore airlines, i had my daypack, quite a big handbag and one of those hammock bags full to bursting and nobody said anything!!!!other people had a a couple of wheelies each and stuff!!!!id def say you would be fine!!!apparently like a bag isnt classed as handluggage, so just say its your handbag even if its a backpack and say the other one is your handluggage!!!!worst case scenario...(for starters ive never been asked how many carry on bags i have)but if they start complaing and its a no go, you can always just check it in for no extra cost!

I did carry a 65L backpack as luggage and a 20L backpack full to explode (with books, almost heavier than the first)as "handbag" in AirFrance and nobody complained.
I don't really know the rules, but seems that about handbags is more important the size than other thing, if you can put it in the space above the heads, is Ok for them.
