I'm off to the rockies end of October Snowboarding has anyone any tips? I was going to apply to Whistler for a job but fancy working in bar. Not sure what the accomodation situation is like either- any ideas?

Hey Chris,
Sory Im not bringing you much information, but I am in a similar boat to you, so when you find out anything let us know. I will be in canada, arriving 25th November, a little later than you but I have the same ideas as you.

What up Chris,

Not sure what sort of tips your looking for, but my suggestion would be to show up early and start looking for a job and a place to stay right away. I'm guessing that Whistler's season starts sometime in Mid-November. The fact that I live in a ski resort town in the States and I spent a season down in New Zealand, I can tell you that jobs and housing fill up fast as loads of people tend to arrive all at the same time. That said, turnover tends to be rather high, so if you're persistent you should be all good. I can tell you that bartending jobs in resort towns are tough to come by and generally you either have to get super lucky or be around for several years before they come available. Waiters and glassy jobs shouldn't be too tough to find though.

Best of luck to you. Whistler is pretty kick ass, though they had a rather shit season last year. With El Nino past and the law of averages, it should be pretty good this year.
