I am keen to spend a week travelling on a self drive canal boat for a week some time in September. I would appreciate any assistance in accessing operators, selecting best routes, things to do/not do etc

Hi, where are you intending to go? England, Mainland Europe? If you are interested in England, then it depends on whethere you want to do a round trip, go A to B, want lots of locks or want to go somewhere different!

It is a fantastic way to see England, very slow but you can really appreciate our countryside, go through parts of cities you would not normally see and of course there is always a pub somewhere near a canal.

There are various companies in England which hire out canalboats, so I suggest you deceide which part of england and then look around for the company . . most of which are now on the internet.

have fun
