Hi Dean

I was in Thailand in June and August. They say it is rainy season at that time but I only had a couple of rainy days out of a few weeks. Bangkok was probably the wettest place for me when I was there in June. I was also in Phuket and Koh Samui and it only rained once in Koh Samui.

I think the problem is the sudden downpour. It looks fine and then all of a sudden it starts bucketing but then it's all ok after an hour or so - which is better than constant and persistent rain! And it's not cold either - so instead of being cold and wet you are only wet.

I was in Tokyo at the end of July. It was HOT!

Perth, Sydney and Auckland will be cold - if you can get to Perth towards the end of August and get to Sydney in September the weather should be stable.

As for the rest I'm not sure. The last time I was in NY was one December many years ago when it was snowing.

I guess with you going to both hemisphere's you'll have to be prepared for all types of weather.
