hi

1: I'm visiting Panama in the first 2 weeks of november, but now I read almost every where about november being the wettest month! Is there a difference maybe between the Pacific and Carribean coast and which one has the most rain?
While hiking in the mountains, f.i. around Boquete, I don't mind so much getting wet, but can you still enjoy relaxing on the beach at Bocas?

2: Does anyone know if you can just go on your own to Isla de Coiba for diving and lodging, or do I have to make reservations in front?

thanx, and don't worry: Í am going to really enjoy my stay anyways, rains or no rains.

Hi
Yes you are right,Nov has the heaviest monthly rainfall for Panama but its not like are rain which might last all day/night,on the Pacific side it will only last 30mins-2hrs then back to sunshine, might last a bit longer on the Caribbean coast.
The Caribbean side has twice more rain than the Pacific.
Isla de Coiba is on the Pacific coast appox 25-30Km off land and to visit you need permission from ANAM's office in Santiago and 100$ for renting a boat,10$ entrance fee,10$ a night for lodging and bring your own food, you can also fly from Panama City.
I enjoyed Bocas del Toro on my last trip and no rain!!!!!
Check out www.coralys.com for some more info.
Have a great time in Panama and if you go to the Canal only go in the afternoon appox 1400hrs as thats the only time the big liners go through.
