Hi Kingston,

No website is going to tell you the bad things about an area of Brisbane or where the crims hang out. Crims probably steal from the best suburbs, but that doesn't make the suburb bad. is one site; however, my pick for your purposes is

My advice to you is to go for a short-term rental property such as a fully serviced apartment you can rent by the week or month. Then rent a car for a week(or buy a car) and sus the suburb you like the most. Finding a place to rent is as easy as dropping in to the local real estate office.

I've never lived in Brisbane I only travel there for business every couple of weeks. I'm only familiar with riverside suburbs near the city and Moreton Bay. I do like Manly a lot. They all seem quite pleasant and rents are quite inexpensive compared to my town - Sydney.

Hope this helps. If you need anything else just email.

I lived in Brisbane for 4 months while I was on my working holiday (I've been home for just over a week!)and stayed in 2 apartments, the first was in Milton, 1 stop from Roma St Transit Centre on the train and is quite a nice suburb. Our flat was owned by Brisbane City Apartments and was awful, we moved out when we discovered rats!! We moved to a much nicer apartment in the Valley (officially called Fortitude Valley) it the pedestrian area of Chinatown. They were called Fortune Court and I could give you the number if you want, just message me. They were really nice places, and very central for the pubs and clubs (the Valley is the place to be seen! And has some really good places to go out)

If you want to know anything else, just let me know and have a fab time, I'm very jealous!
