Travel Forums System Talk saved sent messages

I did it again! I messed up my messages! This was another travel help responce. I thought I was so prepared . . . I copied it before it sent because I was sure it would time out. The problem was it was too long, so I cut a paragraph and resent it. Except this time I accidentally sent it to the wrong person!!! (I had to log back on and then I clicked what I thought was the right message to reply to but I must have miss-clicked!) This was someone I had previously just replied to. Then when I realised my mistake and tried to repaste the message in repsonce to the right person I was only able to paste the cut paragraph! So I tried to find where sent messages are saved and couldn't find it. Are messages automatically saved? If not, could this feature possibly be implemented, or an option of saving messages be implemented? This is a little annoying seeing this is the second time I lost a message, though I guess it is my fault in a way.
Well, thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Steph,

I'll get to work on a 'sent messages' folder right away - my thought would be to make them automatically delete after 3 months, to save our database from bloating too much down the track.

Right, it should all be working now. You will see a 'sent messages' link next to the 'contact list' link at the top of the page. It will show you any messages that you have sent in the last three months providing the recipient hasn't deleted it.

From now on, both the recipient and the sender have to choose to delete a message before it is gone, although it will disappear from your view as soon as you choose to delete it.

Another handy little feature that I have been able to add is the ability to check whether or not the recipient has read the message yet! Could be useful if you're wondering why you haven't had a reply :)

As this is a brand new feature, I'd appreciate it if people let me know if they find any errors, although I did test it fairly carefully.
