I will be travelling to Barbados for 10 days in November (Thanksgiving time) and I want to check out some surrounding islands as well. Any recommendations on where to go and what to see?

I do recommend seeing as much of Barbados as you can. Take an island tour, enjoy the catamaran sailings, and if you are a diver or love the water take in a lot of our lovely beaches.

As for visiting other islands, it's not as easy as it sounds. St. Vincent is the closest island to Barbados and it's 100 miles due west. There are several air carriers, LIAT, BIWA and Caribbean Star, that service many of the island in the Caribbean. The easiest places to get to would be Trinidad, St. Vincent, St. Lucia and Antigua. There is a new ferry service that is supposed to start soon (not sure when, I think it was to start in September but I don't think it's running yet), between Barbados and St. Lucia and the French Islands further north.

Enjoy Barbados While you are here and let me know if I can help in any other way.

I travel quite a bit through the Caribbean and its fairly easy to move around. Barbados is beautiful with some of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean and quite safe.

St Lucia is really nice. There are lots of hotels in the Rodney Bay area (the liming spots) which is close to the bustling Castries capital. Only take a flight and go to the Castries airport as the other one is far out. Its easy to get around and the peps are very friendly.

You can also visit St Vincent and take the ferry and go across to Bequia (A grenadine as in St Vincent and the Grenadines) it's a small, sleepy beautiful place and St Vincent is also easy to find your way around, not much of a night life though.

Enjoy and let me know if you need any suggestions for hotels, car rentals etc.
