maybe there are some hostels in Bangkok - but the better option, more open, are guest houses.

banglampu has many of them - my favourite on Phra athit

I cannot reccomend you a Hostel in Bangkok or Asia as to be honest its not the way to travel in Asia.
I would reccomend staying in the Khao San Rd area as its a long road full of very cheap en-suite guesthouses and hotels and full of outdoor cafes as its the travellers area.
Hundreds of happy smiling travellers walk its cafes at night and it near lots of tourist sites.
Go to accomodation at top of page and just pick a cheapie on Khao San Rd or its many alleys and all I do is book one night at a time until I either like it or just move on.
Have a good trip and enjoy lovely warm Bangkok as I fly in myself on the 29-12-05 and will be on a beach down the coast the same day stright from the Airport, cant wait.

SUK 11 is a nice and comfortable guest house/hostel.
You can check it out at Http://
The location is very convenient and 2 mins walk to the NANA Sky train station.
Any more question, please feel free to ask me.
Have a nice day!

Hey!I recommend staying at the Siam Oriental Inn on Khao San...during my time in Thailand I ended up in Bangkok on 3 occassions all of which I stayed here!the rooms are basic, but they are cheap(280 baht a night) and you get your own bathroom!they have a good restaurant attatched which does yummy cheap breakfasts!!!!Also stayed at the Khas San palace for a couple of nights which was nice but a bit more expensive!
Have fun!
