First of all hello everyone, I've just joined. I hope you can help me with the following:-

I thought that the earlier you book a flight, the cheaper it is.
I recently went to Las Vegas from London Gatwick, having booked a trip with Expedia. The flights were about £400 each, this was early September.

So I was looking out of interest how much it would cost me for next year's trip, and even the cheapest flight with Delta is very very expensive (about £750). This is for the end of August/early September, as the bookings don't go further than that. Similar situation with Virgin.

I have just looked at Expedia and once again, the prices for late summer 2006 are outrageous?

Does anyone know how the system works? When should I realistically start looking for a flight? We want to go back next September, and I thought it would be cheaper to book them ASAP.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

I'm not sure but I don't think there is just one good time - prices are moving for a lot of reasons, up and down and airlines are always releasing more seats. Have people checked out airline tickets in general recently? Everything is CRAZY these days!
